Phase Three Tools

Use the following framework for Phase 3

Reteaching the Tools | Benchmark: People of Peace

WHY DO WE RETEACH?

We ask that each person in your group take time to reteach one or more of the tools they have experienced or learned during the group. The goal is not simply to review information, but to practice owning and sharing the tools that help us grow as disciples. When someone is able to clearly explain and walk others through a tool, it shows that they have begun to internalize it and are preparing to pass it on to others.

This approach creates a valuable two-fold opportunity for the group. First, the person teaching gains the experience of leading others through the tool. This allows them to practice communicating it clearly while also receiving helpful feedback and coaching from the group on how they presented it. It also helps protect the integrity of how our tools are taught. By practicing together, we ensure that we are using common language and common methods across all contexts. This shared understanding helps maintain clarity and consistency so that the tools are communicated faithfully as they are passed from person to person.

Second, reteaching allows the entire group to revisit the tools together and reflect on how well they are currently applying them in their own lives. It provides a natural opportunity to pause, evaluate, and ask honest questions: Am I still using this tool? Has it shaped the way I read Scripture, pray, or engage others? What areas do I need to grow in?

Ultimately, this process helps move the group from simply learning information to living it out and multiplying it. As each person practices teaching and applying these tools, the group becomes better equipped to faithfully walk with Jesus and help others do the same.

BENCHMARK: PEOPLE OF PEACE

As your group enters Phase 4: Deployment, the focus begins to shift from growing together to helping others grow as well. Each person in the group should begin looking for People of Peace—individuals God may already be preparing to hear the gospel or begin a discipling relationship. A Person of Peace might be a friend, coworker, neighbor, or family member who shows openness to spiritual conversation and a willingness to spend time exploring faith. As you pray and remain attentive to the people around you, God will often reveal those who are ready to take a next step.

When someone is deployed from the group, the journey of discipleship continues as they begin investing in others using the same tools and practices they have learned. Deployment is not the end of the process, but the beginning of multiplication—where disciples begin making disciples. As new relationships form and discipling conversations begin, the hope is that new groups will eventually emerge, continuing the mission of helping more people follow Jesus.
